A former Superbet cashier was on Friday charged with stealing over $300,000 from the franchise.

Nikeda Castello, 26, of Lot 307 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

She was charged with larceny by a clerk/servant and released on $70,000 bail following a not guilty plea.

It is alleged that on October 5, at Lot 43 Laing Avenue, Georgetown, she stole $300,726 from her employer.

Police Prosecutor Christopher Morris told the court that the woman’s employer, who runs a Superbet, noticed the money was missing. The man then asked her about the missing money but she denied removing it.

After Castello was plac-ed on bail, the matter was adjourned until December 3.
