Pensioners in the Timehri periphery yet to receive their 2022 pension books and cash vouchers

Dear Editor,

Pensioners in Region Three who live around and beyond Timehri in Region 4 are yet to receive the 2022 pension book and the cash voucher. These residents live in communities that were once populated, now only a few houses remain. These pensioners usually uplift their books at Timehri police station, but as from this year they are not sure where and when they will receive their book. They visited Timehri station a few times but we’re told that their books were not there. They complained that different dates were communicated to them from those who heard from someone. One date was from the 19th to 25th of October, another date floated was the first of November. No venue was mentioned. I believe that the people who are tasked with these distributions do not know the area where these pensioners dwell. While they live in Region 3, it is closer to uplift these documents from Timehri which has been the arrangement for decades. Why confuse these pensioners now? They need their books and their vouchers. Would those who seemed to drag their feet make a concerted effort to address this matter?

Sincerely,
