GAPLF planning to host Senior National Championships in December

Fresh off a successful hosting of its Raw National Championships last month, the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) recently announced plans to host its flagship event in December.

According to its Facebook page, the federation plans to unwrap an early Christmas present for fans of the strength sport on December 19 when the Senior National Championships is scheduled to be held. A venue is still uncertain and will be announced shortly.

What is certain is that the fixture is expected to attract the cream of the nation’s gladiators who will be vying for the coveted Best Male Lifter and Best Female Lifter titles. Further, the lifters will be looking to secure qualifying totals to be shortlisted for the national team for upcoming international 2022 duties.

Top lifters like Vijai Rahim, Hardat Tarson, Carlos Petterson-Grifith, Romario Gonsalves, Esther Maycock, Keisha Abrigo, Xusha Boyce, Farouk Abdool, and Fazim Abdool, are expected to chalk up and put on a strength show on the platform.

Athletes who are interested in competing for Senior Nationals 2021 are required to download their application from the GAPLF’s official Facebook page, for submission along with the required competition fees.

All registration forms and monies should have been submitted to GAPLF Committee Member, Martin Webster. Alternatively, payment for this competition should have been made directly to the Federation’s Bank Account – #6552194 – with a confirming screenshot of the completed registration form along with the confirming banking deposit slip, being electronically submitted to Webster.
