Such mixed messages are not rhetorical

Dear Editor,

Here are two quotes from the press:

1. “Guyana to reduce carbon emissions by 70% by 2030 –Ali tells COP26.” (SN, Nov 03)

2. “Jagdeo defends producing oil as quickly as possible from offshore.” (KN, Nov 02)

My comment: Is there no limit to deceit and speaking with forked tongues? Is Ali leading Jagdeo or is Jagdeo pulling the strings? Not rhetorical. Such mixed messages! Who is telling the truth, and who is not? What will the people believe? Who should the people believe? I have words to describe such conduct, actions and activities, but they may not be palatable. I hope that good commonsense prevail so they mend their ways for the betterment of people and our planet.

Sincerely,

Gary Girdhari
