Man jailed after wounding conviction

A man was sentenced to nearly three years behind bars on Thursday after being found guilty of unlawful wounding.

James Gray, 38, of Ulverston Village, Corentyne, Berbice, appeared at the Whim Magistrate’s Court, where Magistrate Renita Singh handed down the sentencing.

Gray had been charged with unlawful wounding inflicted on Nichiesha Lowenfield. He was arrested on August 8, 2020 and charge on September 7, 2020. Magistrate Singh presided over his trial.

He was found guilty of the offence and was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail.
