After making a huge splash by ticking off the Mr Guyana title on his bucket list last Sunday, Darious ‘Razor’ Ramsammy plans to make big waves locally and internationally in 2022.

In fact, the Santo Domingo Open gold medalist has tsunami-like plans for the New Year.

Ramsammy, who finished off the podium in his Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships debut in 2019 in the lightweight class, plans to move up in weight, ascend the podium steps and to dominate the competition in July in Barbados.

The 24-year-old ‘Razor’ also has aspirations of slicing through the competition at the Arnold Amateur Championships in Brazil in October.

Though Ramsammy has expectations of winning at the annual fixtures which attract the cream of the fitness athletes in the Region, he stated that his number one aim is to beat the “man in the mirror.”

“I have seven months for CAC to get better,” he said yesterday. And added, “I’m expecting to move up to another weight class next year and I am ready to give it my all and my goal is always to please myself and that way I’ll never be disappointed so that being said, as long as I have beaten myself at my last show I am satisfied.”

The 5’4 inch, 170lb mass of striated muscle plans to add 10 more pounds of quality muscle to his award winning frame which he opines will be unbeatable at the two events once he nails his conditioning. “Me at 180 shredded would be invincible,” boasted Ramsammy.

The aesthetic muscleman who has improved his posing and physique every time he has graced the stage, has all the tools and the confidence to get the job done.

Locally, the personal trainer and married father of one stated that he will be promoting the sport as much as he can since he thinks the previous Mr Guyana winners dropped the ball in that regard.

“As I rise, the sport in Guyana must rise along with me. I want to promote the sport and do as much interviews as possible and reach out to as much sponsors and people as possible, not only for me, but for the betterment of the sport.”

Ramsammy has always been focused on ascension. This is not a new Ramsammy, this is the same Ramsammy with new upgrades, so hang onto your hats; Ramsammy 2.0 will be making big waves in 2022.
