Parents are asking for the minister’s intervention at this primary school

Dear Editor,

Kindly allow me a little space in your newspaper to highlight the plight of parents at this Primary School in Region 6 under the present Head teacher. An incident occurred on Wednesday where the parent of a Grade Six student was present in school, in the vicinity of the testing area during the NGSA Mock Examination. This would not have been an issue if the child was not in contact with the parent during this time. This happened for the entire day. The Head teacher refused entry to certain parents, in instances even asked the parents to leave the compound. Certain parents were not allowed to be in the compound during the lunch breaks

The Grade Six class was online and there were exchange of words where the parent in question was abusive and disrespectful. The Head teacher proceeded to remove parents from the group who responded to the abusive parent. Calls to the Department of Education went unanswered. Editor, this Head teacher is rude and abusive to parents and always siding with those who can do favours for her. Something needs to be done about this; it is unfair that the office is being abused simply for one person’s selfishness. Parents are being threatened that their children will be penalized and there have been instances where this has happened. The Minister of Education needs to have a meeting with the parents to hear their concerns.

Sincerely
