Health Ministry, CIOG sign MoU over NA Funeral Parlour

Malcolm Watkins,  Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) for the management and operation of the New Amsterdam Funeral Parlour, East Berbice-Corentyne.

During his remarks, Minister of Health  Dr Frank Anthony welcomed the initiative and said that the Ministry is grateful for the partnership and collaboration with the CIOG.

“We know the hardship that people were experiencing in Region Five and Six and therefore this is a very timely intervention. We value this partnership and by combining our efforts we will be able to reach people and provide services,”  Anthony said, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.

Also present at the signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Health Brickdam Headquarters were Goolzar Namdar, Deputy President; Moeenul Hack the Director of Education and Dawah and Shameena Haniff, General Manager of the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana.
