Trinidad woman stabbed to death, son held

(Trinidad Express) A 67-year-old woman was stabbed death by her son last night, during an argument at their Mayaro home.

Police said around 10 pm on Friday February 25th, pensioner Margaret Nina was at her home at Maloney Road West, Mayaro, when she got into an argument over money with her son. He reportedly stabbed her several times. He also is said to have attacked his brother who tried to protect their mother.

 

Guardian Media understands the police had to force open the front door to get into the house. The suspect reportedly attacked them, but the officers managed to subdue him.

 

The party of officers was led by Sgt Neil Narine, while Inspector Sankar, detectives Meighoo, Rambhajan, Gilead, Parris and WPC Ali also visited the scene.

 

Investigations are continuing.
