Two committed to stand trial for murder of Henry boys

The police today said that  Vinod Gopaul, called ‘Magga’, age 34 years of Yakusari, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice and Anil Sancharra, called ‘Dan Pole’ and ‘Rasta’, age 33 years of D’Edward Village,  were today committed to stand trial for the murders of cousins Isaiah Henry and Joel Henry.

The two accused appeared today before Magistrate Peter Hugh at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court.

 

Gopaul and Sancharra were jointly charged and remanded to prison on Friday, January 15, 2021 for the murders of teen cousins, Isaiah and Joel Henry in the Cotton Tree ‘backdam’, West Coast Berbice.

 

The two cousins were found murdered in September 2020 triggering days of rioting and reprisals on West Berbice.
