Soesdyke miner gets three years for narcotics

A Soesdyke miner who pleaded guilty to the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking  was yesterday fined $10.5 million and sentenced to three years in jail.

Thirty-seven-year-old Quacy Inniss, a miner of Lot 146 Soesdyke Back Road, East Bank Demerara, appeared via Zoom at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, when Magistrate Wanda Fortune handed down the sentence.

The police state that the man who was arrested on Monday, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Following his confession, the Magistrate sentenced him to three years in jail along with a $10.5 million fine.
