Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn on Sunday made an impromptu visit to the Parfaite Harmonie Police Station.

The Ministry of Home Affairs in a short statement on its Facebook page said that during the visit, Benn inspected the building.

He also had discussions with ranks on duty and reminded them that “keen” attention should be paid towards the maintenance and preservation of the facility and its transport, the statement added.

Benn also checked the conditions of the lock-up area and the well-being of those who were in custody.

The $65 million police station was commissioned in September, 2019 by former Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan. It includes male and female barracks rooms, a domestic violence interview room, an ID parade room with one-way viewing glass for the protection of witnesses and victims and a modern lock-up.
