Engineers mourning passing of Dionne Amsterdam

The Guyana Association of Professional Engineers (GAPE) and Guyana’s engineering fraternity are mourning the loss of  engineer, Dionne Amsterdam, MSc (Eng.), B.Eng.

 

With over 18-years’ experience in contract administration, design, construction supervision and project management on many national infrastructure projects, a statement from GAPE said that Amsterdam was well respected within the fraternity and among other key stakeholders involved in Guyana’s infrastructure development.

 

The statement said she was considered as one of Guyana’s finest female engineers and had an unparalleled work ethic. Her commitment to infrastructure development in her roles while engaged through the private and public sectors is proof that she was a true Guyanese patriot, the statement said.

 

 

 

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill had said on her passing:

 

“I am saddened, shocked and deeply grieved by the untimely passing of one of Guyana’s finest, intelligent, polite, decent and hardworking female Engineers, Ms. Dionne Amsterdam. My Prayers and thoughts are with her family, friends and co-workers.  Deepest Sympathy on behalf of myself and the entire Ministry of Public Works”.
