Farmers from Hague Backdam on the West Coast of Demerara are relieved that their drainage issue has been resolved and they no longer suffer flooding and major losses to their crops during heavy rainfall.

They are calling for an all-weather road to be built, though, as it would be easier to access their farms and transport their produce.

In December last, the agitated farmers took Stabroek News to their flooded farmlands and expressed frustration at their loss and the drainage system.
