This photo shows land being cleared in the Hague Backdam, West Coast Demerara in preparation for the siting of the four-lane highway. The road will stretch from the Demerara Harbour Bridge to Parika. A meeting was held with the private land owners whose farms are being disrupted. They are expected to receive compensation.
