‘Oluwa ni ireti mi’ meaning ‘God is my hope’ is the name of the newest bag collection from Nigerian designer Deborah Kehinde.

The collection, which is slated to be launched next Wednesday, consists of bags made from 23 different African prints in six styles including a laptop bag suitable for men.

According to Deborah, the bags have been a long time coming as the collection took a year to complete. This was a result of the prints imported from Nigeria being delayed owing to the pandemic. “… The shipment was stuck in Brazil for months. At that time I almost gave up but God didn’t give up on me,” Deborah remembered. Nonetheless, for the grateful designer, ‘all’s well that ends well’.

Getting creative and bringing the ideas in her head to fruition were satisfying, the designer said, sharing photos that show she stops at nothing when it comes to delivering exquisiteness, sophistication and class.

“They are mostly high-end designer bags inspired. So we have the Chika Bag that resembles the Chanel bag, [and the] Damola Bag that is inspired by the Dior Tote Bag. The Damola Bag [comes with] an extra purse,” shared the designer.

Additionally, customers can go a step further and choose to personalise their bags by having their names stitched onto them. According to Deborah, photos of the collection have already been posted on social media which has resulted in a number of orders being placed.

“God has been good and we love our customers. There were very positive responses. [I’d like to thank] my parents Hezekiah Kehinde and Rhoda Kehinde [along with] my three brothers Engr Tobi, Jaykaykenny and Ab for their continuous support. My family has been a big blessing and [my] support system,” she said.

The bags are also available for purchase by people living outside of Guyana. Shoppers can visit the website www.rhodadoxa.com or contact the designer on Facebook and Instagram @ Rhoda Doxa Fashion or call or WhatsApp +5926521833.
