The police today said that `D’ Field Sophia girl, Makida Quick died yesterday after the bicycle that she was on was struck by a motorbiker.

The Police said that Quick – a student of Tucville Secondary School – was riding south along the eastern side of Section `E’ Field Main Access Road whilst Glenton Redman was speeding in the said direction when he allegedly lost control of his motorbike and collided with the teen. As a result of the collision, Quick was flung some distance in the air before falling into a nearby drain while Redman fell onto the road surface.

They were both picked up in an unconscious condition and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit where Quick was pronounced dead on arrival.
