Seeking to promote creativity among youths within the Good Hope and Pomona Neighbourhood Democratic Council and Bethany in Region Two, the Altruists Youth Group on Saturday hosted Easter Hat, Basket and Egg Hunt contests at the Pomona Playground.
The activities saw participating youths displaying creative hats, baskets and eggs depicting Easter messages.
Speaking on behalf of the youth group, Mahindra Sharma said the events fostered togetherness and creativity.
During the competition cash prizes were given to those participants with the most creative designs. The competitions were open to persons 12 years and up.
The winners of the hat competition were Emily Dwarka, Kevin Dwarka and Vashti Ganesh, while the winners of the basket competition were Mia Ramuth, Divya Taijbally and Lesha Purnanand.
The youth group, which promotes cultural and social activities among youths, was formed in 2019 and has been observing holidays from the three major faiths in Guyana.
