No bail for attempted murder accused

A man was yesterday remanded to prison on a charge of attempted murder.

Immanuel Marques appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to face the charge.

According to the charge, on April 16, 2022, at Croal Street, Georgetown, Marques wounded Jamal Haywood with intent to murder him. He was not required to plead.

Haywood is said to have been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he is still being treated for his injury.

Marques will make his next court appearance on May 9, 2022.
