Shut down noise nuisances after the first warning

Dear Editor,

The letter writer ‘Come out with a package that benefits struggling, hurting families’ (SN May 3), made the valid point that closing down noise nuisance bars and other establishments after a third report is being generous and discretionary.  The writer posited these places should be shut down after the first warning.  The police know who the culprits are and who wantonly flout the warnings.

As if to lend support to the noise nuisance problem, the letter ‘Music onslaught at Marriott Hotel beach’ (SN May 3), which followed the one above, tells it all.

Shut them down after the first warning and send a strong message.

Yours faithfully,

Shamshun Mohamed
