Police in Region Four can now view the live feed of movements in the community of Haslington New Scheme on the East Coast of Demerara following the recent installation of two high-end CCTV cameras.

The cameras were donated by overseas-based Guyanese, Gary Williams. They were installed by crew members of the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) on Wednesday.

The release said Police Commander, Khali Pareshram has assured Williams that the CCTV cameras will benefit the community and will be monitored for both detection and prevention of crime or from criminal elements.

He urged stakeholders and businesses to invest in CCTV cameras within their communities, homes and businesses while noting that the use of more technology throughout his division will create a safer and more secure environment for residents, the release added.

Pareshram, Officer-In-Charge of #1 Sub Division, Assistant Superinten-dent, M. Ally; Corporal Robin and Constable Rigby of the Community Relations Office along with Chairperson of the Haslington/Golden Grove NDC, Coretta De Jesus formally received the cameras on behalf of the residents.

They also oversaw the installation at the entrance of the New Haslington Scheme, the police said.
