The police yesterday said that a father who badly beat his five-year-old son because he had eaten some Chinese food is to be prosecuted.
The police said that on the 3rd May, 2022 a report was made at Amelia’s Ward Police Outpost in Linden over the matter.
The victim was accompanied by a welfare officer who reported the matter and the accused was arrested and placed in custody but he was subsequently released after it was reported that he was suffering from tuberculosis.
The victim was escorted to Linden Hospital Complex in the company of the Welfare Officer and a Police Sergeant where he was seen and medically examined by a doctor on duty.
Statements were also taken by the police with a view of prosecution.
The victim was placed in the protection of the Welfare Officer.
