A pickup truck belonging to the Guyana Police Force yesterday fatally struck down a 12-year-old West Demerara Secondary School student on the Goed Fortuin Public road.

The dead girl has been identified as Kayla Barnabas and according to the Police the incident occurred just about 3:45 pm as she was attempting to cross the road.

The Police, in a statement, related that pickup truck GXX 6575 was proceeding south along the eastern side of the Goed Fortuin public road when Barnabas reportedly ran from east to west across the road in the path of the vehicle.
