A Police Constable was arraigned at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court yesterday for allegedly discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a public way at two locations on the East Coast of Demerara.
Police Constable #21302 Cleveland Williams of Lot 52 6th Street Paradise, ECD appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore where he pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that he, discharged a loaded firearm, irresponsibly, at Golden Grove and Paradise, ECD on June 11, 2022.
Constable Williams who is stationed at the Criminal Investigation Department at Brickdam Police Station was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 on each charge.
He will make his next court appearance on August 2, 2022, for disclosure.
