Corentyne hire car driver remanded over rape of minor

A Corentyne hire car driver was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with raping a minor, who hours after the alleged incident consumed a poisonous substance resulting in her being critically hospitalized.

Ameer Inshanally, 30, a hire car driver of Sand Reef Albion, Corentyne, appeared at the Reliance Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh where he was charged with rape of a child under sixteen years on June, 6 at Albion, Corentyne.

He was not required to enter a plea the indictable charge and was remanded to prison. Inshanally will return to the Albion Magistrate’s Court on July, 13 for report.

 Meanwhile, the victim remains critically hospitalized at a Corentyne medical facility since she is still unable to breathe on her own, a relative noted yesterday.
