The police yesterday said that a Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara man was nabbed on Sunday with an unlicensed gun and raw gold at the Supenaam stelling in Essequibo.
The 41-year-old man was carrying the gun and 16 ounces, four pennyweight of gold inside a haversack.
Police ranks on vehicle patrol at around 4,10 am at the Supenaam stelling saw the man acting in a suspicious manner and carried out a search on his person and the items were found. The man is in custody.
