Region Two woman, 85, dies from COVID -107 new cases recorded

The Ministry of Health yesterday reported one new COVID death. The victim who succumbed on June 9th has been identified as an 85-year-old female of Region Two, Pomeroon-Supenaam. She was unvaccinated.

As such, the country’s death toll from the pandemic is now 1,249.

Additionally, 107 new cases were recorded. The cases came after 988 tests were conducted.

Region One recorded 3 of those new cases, Region Two 20, Region Three 3, Region Four 68, Region Six 10 cases and Region Eight 3.

Two persons are said to be in the COVID ICU while 22 are in institutional isolation and 831 in home isolation.
