Guyanese now have the opportunity to alleviate their standard of living for themselves and future generations

Dear Editor,

Are we naive to accept lawlessness as peaceful protest in a democratic society? I migrated to Canada almost fifty years ago and told my family if Guyana was like Canada then I would have been stupid to leave. All Guyanese have the opportunity to better themselves. The progress that this government has made in such a short time, inclusiveness of all races, is astounding. I am the happiest Guyanese to see that finally that all Guyanese will have the opportunity to alleviate their standard of living for themselves and future generations.

The message that the government should be sending to those who choose to impede progress for themselves and family is that you can follow the few or you can better yourselves and family, you have the opportunity, look around and observe. I see the sincerity in this administration working hard to include all Guyanese, regardless of race to participate in a progressive Guyana. Be patient and work hard. Peace and blessing to all my fellow country folks, God bless.

Sincerely,

Basheer Karim
