The PPP needs to change its ways

Dear Editor,

The People Progressive Party (PPP) is not a Perfect Political Party. Yet, I am a continued supporter of this entity. Some may ask that after the various shenanigans of the PPP (like being autocratic, vindictive at times, controlling, less democratic, in pursuit of self- enrichment as opposed to being a servant of the people, etc.) why do I remain a supporter? The answer to that question is that the PPP needs to change. It will not do so with the current Leadership (ie. Bharrat Jagdeo). Khemraj Ramjattan, Moses Nagamootoo and Ralph Ramkarran all tried to get the PPP to change and left when it did not.

So, by my stopping being a supporter of the PPP will not change the PPP. I believe that there are many other supporters of the PPP who knows that the PPP needs to change its ways. So, how do we get the PPP to change its attitude and behaviour? By getting the members of the PPP to question what its leadership is doing in their names. It is the collective members who will change the PPP once they acknowledge that the PPP is not a Perfect Political Party which rules in the best interest of all Guyanese.

Sincerely,

Sean Ori
