Friendship man charged with death by dangerous driving

A man was yesterday released on $200,000 bail after he was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Gary Trapp, 24, of Lot 47 Friendship Village, East Coast Demerara appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court in the presence of Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, where the charge was laid against him.

It is alleged that Trapp, on August 19, 2021, at Rupert Craig Highway, Georgetown, drove motor car PLL 724 in a manner dangerous to the public, causing the death of Kamala Chinapen.

The man pleaded not guilty to the charge and bail was granted in the sum of $200,000.

Trapp is scheduled to make his next court appearance on August 11.
