Producer Randy LaFleur hosts ‘The Beginning’, a live concert, on July 22 at the Theatre Guild Playhouse from 6 pm featuring local gospel artist Donette Andrews. The occasion will also mark the official release of Donette’s album.

The 30-year-old mother of two, who has been singing from the age of 10, is originally from Buxton, East Coast Demerara. She attends Temple Gate Ministries church, where her talent was endorsed.

Donette is self-employed and aims for greatness as a songwriter. She has been engaged in vocal training from the age of 17. She explained that perseverance brought her thus far, despite criticisms and challenges. She said most of her experiences were from performances at events held at church. Donette described her journey as challenging owing to the fact that she is self-employed and the launch is without sponsors.

Randy, who is her producer started off his career as a songwriter and was later driven by his adversities to be a producer. He stated that as his passion grew, he was eager to know what it was like to explore his own rhythms and make his vision a reality. He has owned RJL Music Studio for 10 years. He can be found on Facebook as RJL Music and on YouTube under Randy Lafleur.

The concert seeks to encourage, enlighten, and empower. Donette’s songs can be found on YouTube under Donette Boston; on Facebook @Donyet Andrews and on Instagram @DonyetAndrews.
