Police seized a toy gun and a quantity of improvised weapons, scissors and lighters from patrons entering the Emancipation J’ouvert at the National Park on Friday night.
In a brief statement, the Guyana Police Force said full police coverage was provided during the event. The items were found and confiscated between 18.00hrs Friday and 02.20hrs yesterday. About 2,500 persons attended the event, the police said. No incidents were reported.
