New mess for GDF warrant officers at Camp Stephenson

The Warrant Officers (WOs) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) Corps of Base Camp Stephenson will now enjoy a spanking new mess.

The new building was commissioned on Thursday, August 11, 2022, a release from the GDF said.

Chief of Staff, Brigadier Godfrey Bess, Commanding Officer 1 Infantry Battalion, Colonel Sherwin Anderson, Colonel Administration and Quartering, Commander Vernon Burnette, and the Force Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class One Raul Rodney were all on hand for the ceremony.

Brigadier Bess and Base Commander, Base Camp Stephenson, Lieutenant Colonel Natasha Stanford unveiled the plaque for the new facility.

The new facility has been handed over for use and will cater to the mess and recreational needs of the WOs and SNCOs.

In brief remarks, Brigadier Bess said that the commissioning of the new building is a testament to the Force’s commitment to ensuring that the welfare needs of every rank are adequately met.

The 4 Engineers Battalion through the GDF Project Execution Unit was instrumental in providing supervision for the execution of the project.
