Kuru Kuru ‘Five’ remanded over robbery under arms, other charges

Five men were yesterday remanded to prison after being slapped with a series of robbery under arms, possession of firearm, and acquiring military clothing charges.

Twenty-six-year-old Jomain Watson, Toney Jerrick, 32; Stanford Ford, 25; 36-year-old Jason Harry, and 29-year-old Randy Fraser, all of Kuru Kuru Village, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, appeared at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce where the charges were read to them.

Watson was charged with the offence of possession of a firearm without being the holder of a firearm licence. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.

Jerrick and Ford were both charged with the offence of robbery under arms committed on Tanesha Fordyce on August 22 at Hillfoot, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

Ford was additionally charged with acquiring military clothing. He also denied the allegation.

The charge which was jointly read against Harry, Fraser, and Jerrick, states that on August 23, at Dookie’s Sand Road, Soesdyke, they robbed Leonard McKenzie.   The men pleaded not guilty to the various charges and were all remanded to prison.

The matters were adjourned to September 28.
