A live stage show, “Those People”, premieres at the National Cultural Centre on next Saturday, September 3 and continues on September 4.

A Signature Productions presentation, “Those People.” is produced by Maria Benschop, who is well known for the popular “Nothing To Laugh About” shows. She shared that the name came about following a conversation with her son one day when he returned home from school. Benschop said she was playing music loudly when her son entered the house and he declared, “Mommy, you know you just like those people” (referring to their neighbours).

“Those People” features the virtual lives of residents of  West Ruimveldt; gossip, helpful practices, togetherness, ghetto behaviour, boisterous attitude, love and much more. The cast includes some of the cream of the local acting fraternity: Michael Ignatius (Beyonce), Leza Singh (Noreen), Clemencio Goddette (Toya), Jermaine Grimmond (Marcus), Abigail Brower (Stacy), Kiemarley Nestor, Ladonna Kissoon (Rebecca), Aleena Hoalim (Priya), Sheron Cadogan-Taylor (Mabel), Onix Duncan, Patricia Marks (Granny) and Marissa Morgan.

Ticket locations are: Payless Variety Store on Wellington Street, Urban Life at Giftland Mall, MVP/Urban Life at Amazonia Mall, Andrew’s Supermarket on Aubrey Barker Road and on Robb Street and the National Cultural Centre.
