President meets team from low-cost Canadian airline

President Irfaan Ali met yesterday with representatives of Canada’s Swoop Airlines: Kyle Hart and Bert van der Stege at State House.

On its Facebook page, Swoop describes itself as Canada’s ultra-low-cost airline.  It is owned by WestJet and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.

A release from the Office of the President said that its service is focused on routes from primary cities in Canada to popular warm destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, and the United States of America. van der Stege explained that the officials are endeavouring to “better understand the environment”, the release said.

The CEO of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport,  Ramesh Ghir and the Director of Projects at the Office of the President, Marcia Nadir-Sharma, also attended the meeting, the release said.
