Too many children begging during school hours

Dear Editor,

I applaud the initiative taken by the Ministry of Human Services to remove children from the streets who are found begging. Begging generally is a social pathology but children who beg is even more pathetic. The place for children is in the home or in the safe confines of the school. Too many children are seen during school hours at traffic junctions begging or doing all manner of odd jobs. Am happy that something is now being done to address this sad situation.

Sincerely,

Hydar Ally
