Dancehall Gad to drop first studio album in December

Devalle Noble, who performs under the name Dancehall Gad, is getting set to release his first album at the end of this year, out of the IQ Studio.

The 23-year-old dancehall singer, who currently makes a living as a vendor at the Bourda Market, and hails from Fifth Field, Cummings Lodge, Georgetown has revealed that his album, ‘Streets and Gad’ will be released in an unorthodox fashion.

Because he is a hustler, Dancehall Gad told The Scene, his 20-song album will hit the streets first. Beginning late this year and continuing into early 2023, 300 to 400 flash drives loaded with his music will flood the streets connecting with the people he feels at one with. He said that the motivation that drove him to make ‘Streets and Gad’ was his pain and experience, adding, “to make it at age 24, you have to be lucky”.

The entertainer told this reporter that while growing up, he always felt he was born to be an artist. He recalled that when he was younger, he enjoyed watching music videos by pop singers like Michael Jackson, and his mother would usually buy their music for him. However, as he grew older, his musical tastes changed. He began singing at the age of 16, but he was 19 when he began to fully pursue his music career in the Dancehall genre.

His first single was “Women Alone” at age 19. Since then, Dancehall Gad has sung approximately 40 songs. Among them are “Spiritual”, which was recently released and speaks of positivity and what’s going on in the world right now; “In This World’’, that deals with poverty; and “Lottery”, on which his producer created the rhythm whilst he created the lyrics, talks about the future when his music is successful. He also dropped “16” on the day Russia invaded Ukraine. Some of these songs will be on the ‘Streets and Gad’ album.

The performer related that music allows him to express himself and he sings about the things society is mostly afraid of and it represents what’s going on in society. He added that his music could be controversial music – a little bit of good and bad. He described dancehall as cultural music, and said what he sings is for everyone; all classes of people, even intellectuals.

Some of Dancehall Gad’s musical idols are Michael Jackson, Vybz Kartel, Tommy Lee, Bob Marley and Popcaan, just to name a few.

When asked about encouraging youth, he said, “If you want to be a musician, be a musician. You can’t want to be a musician while engaging in criminal activities, it won’t work. So you ga pick a side. If you gon sing, sing, but don’t be engaged in criminal activities. That’s going to jeopardize your future.”

Throughout his professional career, Dancehall Gad has performed at several shows. One of the most popular was the Skeng concert that was hosted by HD Casual, where he shared the stage with Skeng. He said this show raised a lot of awareness about him as an artist.

Dancehall Gad thanked his freelance Public Relations Officer Esan Paul who’s with IQ Studio. His music can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/ channel/UCv5z0DC7QRY4neXRMyhFl9g. Fans can also follow him on  Facebook at Dancehall Gad.
