Dear Editor,
It is utterly unbelievable that no less a person than the government’s senior legal functionary could be so careless and injudicious with the petition matter that was before the Apex Court, unleashing a barrage of criticisms to this often thought of respected functionary. Now because of his impulsive behaviour, in defiance of the Court’s long standing expectation of confidence, Guyana might be blacklisted in future considerations of early notifications of decisions. This has to be an embarrassment and integrity blot to an otherwise successful campaign and eventual outcome. Just what was the thoughtline in this decision? Should the senior luminary be faced with a monetary fine by the court for this indiscretion?
