How many extra millions have we expended to satisfy PPP’s desire for extra credit?

Dear Editor,

Instead of raising the old-age pension to $30,000 in the budget, the PPP moved it to $28,000 and is doling out grants to effect the same. My question is who is counting the cost of doing these grants as they come with a separate and specific expense? These ‘cash grants’ have to be advertised, and prepared separate from the regular process, and of course, there is the expense of the various Ministers’ travel to ensure the delivery of this latest ‘largesse’ is accorded proper political mileage and brownie points. How many extra millions have we expended to satisfy the PPP’s desire for extra credit?

Editor, I am looking forward to a day when we can have an efficient caring government and not one that is seeking political points at the expense of the public purse; sadly, the parliamentary Leader of the Opposition has continuously failed to criticize the profligate habits of the incumbents; this inability to represent is a concern for our fragile ‘democracy’.

Sincerely,
