Body of man found floating in Mazaruni River

The Police are trying to determine the identity of a male whose body was found floating in the Mazaruni River on Tuesday.

A statement from the Police said that around 3pm ranks at the Bartica Police Station received a call from a woman who identified herself as Lis Sam and reported the sighting of a  body in the river. The information was reportedly relayed to Sam by one Henry Alphonso – a miner and claim holder at Barakat Mining Concession.

The discovery was made by Alphonso’s workers.
