Woman with back pain died after administering of injection

Dear Editor,

On Tuesday 21st of June 2022, Simone Stephen, 46-yrs-old of Dartmouth and unemployed was rushed to the Oscar Joseph Hospital, Charity after complaining of an acute back pain. At the hospital, she was administered an injection by a nurse and sent home. Unfortunately, on her way home, she collapsed and had to be rushed back to the said hospital where she died. Her grieving family want answers. They are appealing to the appropriate authority for answers as to why she died after receiving an injection for a simple back-pain.

She wasn’t known to have any complaints before which could have caused her demise. Her family, who are startled at her passing could only surmised what may have caused her death; (1) the injection was too potent, (2) the person who administered it wasn’t qualified, (3) a doctor should have been consulted prior to the administering of that injection, and (4) Simone should have been placed under observation after the administering of that injection.

The grieving family is asking for some kind of inquiry to be carried out to know her true cause of death. No one should enter a hospital with a simple back pain and end up dead. This surely calls for an enquiry. This is simply negligence on someone’s part.

Sincerely,

John David
