Bigger ‘draw down’ from T&T oil and gas sector this year

Trinidad and Tobago may not, any longer, be the prolific oil and gas producer that once decidedly set its economy apart from those of the rest of the Caribbean Community. (CARICOM) though recent reports from Port-of-Spain indicate that the country’s fossil fuel recoveries are still doing its fair share to help keep the country’s economy afloat.

Days ago, the country’s Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, reportedly told the country that the government in Port of Spain had secured more   money than it had anticipated from oil companies operating in the country. Imbert’s revelations indicated that whereas, last year, the government had secured $TT $3.1 billion, this year it was anticipating that it would receive around $5.53 billion.
