Four new COVID cases recorded

Four new COVID cases were recorded yesterday by the Ministry of Health after 187 tests were conducted.

One of the new cases was recorded from Region Two, 2 were from Region Four and 1 was from Region Five.

According to the updated dashboard, the COVID-19 ICU remains empty, however 2 persons are still in institutional isolation and 18 are in home isolation.

As of yesterday, the country’s death toll remains at 1,281.

The COVID situation is much improved compared to a year ago.

On November 8th of 2021, Guyana recorded three deaths and the new cases on that day totalled 77. At that time also, 12 persons were in the ICU, while 73 were in institutional isolation and 2,514 were in home isolation.

A year ago, the death toll was 945.
