There should have been proper feasibility studies

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank Fitzroy Fletcher for his letter `Gas to energy project not viable even at present high crude oil prices’ (SN, 7th November 2022). Before this Cost Analysis of the Wales Gas to Energy project we were literally building a house without knowing the cost.

I suspect that Bharrat Jagdeo would argue that it is not financially viable but economically viable. This is not my viewpoint. My viewpoint is that there should have been proper feasibility studies before embarking on mega-projects especially when it will saddle Guyanese with a huge debt.

Let the debate begin but I don’t think the PPP/C Government is listening hence not learning.

Sincerely,

Sean Ori
