Don’t be too fast to present a freshly written poem

Dear Editor,

I wish to utilise your letter column to advise young poets not to be too fast to present a freshly written poem to others. Let the poem rest for a few days. Then reread it several times and you may see that it is not as good as you thought. Currently, I am rereading all my poems of the last three months written in Ontario, Canada. I am seeing so many areas for improvement in them that I have to retouch. Sometimes the original written when reread later makes you ask the question, “Did I actually write this nonsense?”

Sincerely,

Krishna Nand Prasad
