Dear Editor,
Permit me to air my opinion on the announcement of the 8% increase for public servants. The increase for me is a welcomed one. It takes away a few expenses for me and my family which allows room for extra savings. Based on the views on social media the populace seems divided whether they support the government or not. We live in a time where anything is possible, (remember the lockdown during Covid-19?) and we must be mature in our spending to save for a rainy day. There was time when I could not afford the luxurious things in life but I made do with what I could have afforded. Additionally, questions will be asked about the oil fund and ask why we could not get more, but trust the process, the Government continues to invest in its people in one way or another. In closing I say thank you, GoG, for this increase.
