Police in Region 4B are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a 52-year-old woman, whose body was discovered in her Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home on Friday night.
The dead woman has been identified as Seerani Seepersaud.
A police source yesterday confirmed that an investigation has been launched and the police are waiting on an autopsy report to determine how Seepersaud died.
The Sunday Stabroek understands that Seepersaud was last seen alive on Thursday.
The discovery was made the following day by her son who showed up and called for her but got no response.
Seepersaud lived with her husband, who was not at home at the time of the discovery.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted in the new week.
