Suspect in Belfield murder captured

The suspect in the murder of Belfield woman Nazaleen Mohamed has been captured.

In a statement yesterday, the police said that following feedback from members of the public, the murder suspect was arrested yesterday morning in an abandoned house at Mahaica during a pre-dawn operation.

According to police report, the woman had left her Belfield squatting area, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home at about 7 am to visit her brother at Lowlands, ECD, but was later discovered dead in a canal with stab wounds about her body.

Nazaleen was the mother of four children. She had ended her relationship with Sawh early last year.
