The Ministry of Education, the Guyana Teachers’ Union and the Teaching Service Commission met yesterday for the first time in three years to begin the process of promoting teachers across the country.

A release from the Ministry of Education said that this process was enabled with the swearing-in of the Teaching Service Commission on the 30th December 2022 by President Irfaan Ali.

It is expected that more than 750 senior vacancies will be advertised for both board and non-board schools. The vacancy list will be published next week using all media platforms, the release said. It is planned that a second promotion cycle will be done in 2023. This promotion cycle will be historic in many ways, the release added.
